Primary Blog/Law #7: Stop the Bleeding — Fortress Step One

After the three-thousand-dollar bicycle, I built what I now call the fortress. It has an order. Get the order wrong and the whole thing falls.

Step one is not investing. It's not saving. It's not anything clever.

Step one is: stop the bleeding.

If a debt charges you more than your money earns anywhere else — that debt is a wound, and no amount of clever building matters while you're bleeding. You don't decorate a house that's on fire.

Law #7: Before anything fancy, list every debt, biggest interest rate first. That top line? That's the enemy. Feed it everything until it's dead. Then the next one. It's not exciting. Fortresses aren't exciting. They're standing.

One thing, always: books educate — before you act, sit down with qualified professionals who do this every day.

Steps two and three come next. That's Law #7.

The Laws are from my book, Raising Eddie: Fathering a Disabled Son — available on Amazon. Free 10-Strategy Survival Guide: joinironfathers.com/guide · Free 2-minute Fortress Check-Up: joinironfathers.com/gps-updated

Educational content from the book — not financial, legal, or investment advice. Before acting, talk to qualified professionals who do this every day.

Learn our Secrets

It took me 15 years of research, thousands of hours spent with physical, speech, and occupational therapists, intense struggles, and painful introspection to find these answers.

Inside, you'll find:
• Unfiltered truths about the mental and emotional toll of parenting a disabled child
• The evolution of a man into a father, warrior, and leader
• Powerful messages on unity, action, and personal accountability
• Tools for self-care, legal preparedness, and long-term planning
• A community-driven spirit for fathers and families in crisis
If you've ever felt alone in your struggle, Raising Eddie is proof that while the journey is brutal, you don’t have to walk it alone.
