There's a reason every high-pressure room on earth wants your signature before you leave it.
The IEP meeting. The finance office. The sales table. They put the paper in front of you while the room is warm, the people are smiling, and saying no feels rude.
That feeling — that social pressure to sign — is not an accident. It's the product.
So here is the simplest law in the entire book, and the one I've watched save families the most money and the most regret:
Law #4: Never sign in the room. Any paper worth signing today is still worth signing tomorrow. Take it home. Read it at your own kitchen table, on your own clock, next to someone you trust. Line by line, with nobody watching your face for hesitation.
And if they tell you the offer expires tonight? That's not a deadline. That's a warning.
I'm an attorney. I read contracts for a living. And I still take them home. That's Law #4.
The Laws are from my book, Raising Eddie: Fathering a Disabled Son — available on Amazon. Free 10-Strategy Survival Guide: joinironfathers.com/guide · Free 2-minute Fortress Check-Up: joinironfathers.com/gps-updated
Educational content from the book — not legal, tax, or investment advice.

Inside, you'll find:
• Unfiltered truths about the mental and emotional toll of parenting a disabled child
• The evolution of a man into a father, warrior, and leader
• Powerful messages on unity, action, and personal accountability
• Tools for self-care, legal preparedness, and long-term planning
• A community-driven spirit for fathers and families in crisis
If you've ever felt alone in your struggle, Raising Eddie is proof that while the journey is brutal, you don’t have to walk it alone.
